Summer is here.My Happy Marriage: Something I can immediately get emotionally invested in. It's still pretty unbelievable that this Cinderella type attitude exists with family, but I can look past that. Thanks Netflix for finally learning how to do anime, and getting something that's promising.
The Girl I Like Forgot Her Glasses: First line, "I'm in love with a girl" MAL: Genre tag - romantic subtext. Can't get more overt than that. Excellent animation 95% of the time, baffling the rest. I do like her wild hair, but why does she have those Wolverine strands on the sides?

Well so far my watchlist of new stuff is this:
The Gene of AI -- it seems like its a show that focuses more on a area if its fine to copy a human soul into a robot body and other things. Also its pretty realistic for something that could happen in future
Level 1 Demon Lord and One Room Hero -- this one is more of a comedy type and so far so good
Undead Murder Farce -- its not humans this time, but yokai and other creatures that go after humans as a revenge. Kinda original story for once.
Reborn as a Vending Machine, Now I Wander the Dungeon -- for now it more of a chill type of anime and its not horrible at least and not generic as some other isekai
The Great Cleric -- this looks like a re-dou of a healer light version and also mc is not overpowered day 1Sugar apple fairy tale also has a new season and so does Mushoku Tensei.
I tried to watch but got bored 15 min in -- Genjitsu no Yohane: Sunshine in the Mirror ... just no
Don't sweat the details!!!

Since the summer season is winding down, it's time to see how disappointing it was. Favorite anime of the season goes to Horimiya: Piece. I thought I would be bothered by the fact they were, well, pieces, of the story added in. But it didn't matter. I love this cast, I always will. The show is even funnier than I remembered it too. Ichikawa and Yuki are probably still my favorites, but I loved seeing more of everyone.Surprise of the season: My Unique Skill Makes Me OP Even at Level 1. Among the more generic isekai, this one has more charm and personality than the rest of the season. I have no idea how people actually live in this world, but it certainly made for something interesting. Carrots or death all day.
Disappointment of the season: My Happy Marriage. I was going to put Jobless Reincarnation here, but I haven't been big on it to begin with. For My Happy Marriage, it's still a good show, and I'm glad it's getting a second season. But there were just things that bothered me too much about it. Even beyond the Cinderella allusions, the antagonists were just too cartoonishly evil. Later on things get a little weird. I'm glad we got resolution with Miyo's power, but the tone just shifted a little too much with that and the spirit things. I like the main cast. At least the cast we're supposed to like. Kudo and his sister act like real siblings while still loving each other. Kudo's assistant guy is great. I want to see more of him being goofy. I hope the show takes the opposite turn of The Devil's a Part-Timer and focuses more on what makes the show good and not try to get too deep. Speaking of.
Just Give It Up: The Devil's A Part-Timer. People may disagree here, but what made this series good in the first place was the fact it was a fish out of water character comedy. And when it does that, it succeeds. Part one of season two had a bit of that, but you can see it slowly moving away from it. To the point this new part has almost no episodes focused on just more slice of life stuff. Last part we got the farm episode, and the one with Rika and Ashiya. This season, I can't remember any. Stop trying to force the fantasy world on us.
Best girl: Tomori - Bang Dream It's MyGo. The show itself was a bit overly dramatic. The performance episodes were the best. Raana was fun, but her quirkiness didn't really surface until later in the show. But Tomori. I feel so bad for her. She blames herself for everything, when it's clearly not. Just wants to belong, wants to fit somewhere. And having that character as the vocalist just made it all the more emotional. The rest of the cast, eww. Anon's voice grated my nerves. Everyone else was kind of a jerkass. And the sequel will be focusing on the worst of them. I hope it turns out like the original series, where the "main" band are still the primary characters, just throwing in the rest to support. Because while I really like Ave Mujica's music, I truly don't care for any of them.
Going to Fall, it's going to be wild. So many hyped new shows. Frieren, The Apothecary Diaries, SHY, I'm In Love With The Villainess, 100 Girlfriends. And then all the sequels to watch. Ancient Magus Bride Season 2 Part 2, Girlfriend Girlfriend season 2, Shield Hero season 3, Dr. Stone New World part 2. Spy x Family season 2, Dead Mount Death Play part 2, and The Saint's Magic Power is Omnipotent Season 2.

This season was definitely much quieter than I expected - a lot of my watches were just because. Definitely didn’t have the standouts I was hoping, especially with a couple strong follow ups.JJK S2: it was ok (by JJK standards). I didn’t like the early art style change for the first arc but I seemed to be one of the few that felt that way. I did enjoy the arcs but each episode never made me want to watch the next so just watched it on auto pilot.
Bleach: this season was harder on me - it had some really cool enemies with cool abilities but holy hell, there were a massive amount of comedy characters. Always threw me off when we had this heavy fight then the villain goes “you messed up my hair!”. I don’t need it to be always serious but it can’t seesaw between the two so damn hard in a single episode. And man, they did Orihime dirty with her new model - that bitch’s tits grew like the fucking Grinch’s heart it seems.
Mushoku Tensei: I really wanted this to be better -I miss the interesting world building a lot. It’s funny because school arcs are usually my favorite and this one was fine, but it liked to remind me every episode why I can’t recommend this show to non-degenerates. I “like” where it’s going but it was fine.
Zom100: it’s not over but have a general idea. I liked the art style and it’s definitely a fun anime, but it’s definitely not one I’ll remember past this season. MC was a bit too much for me but it worked. Girl was hot so that was nice too.
HoriMiya: agree with Pendulous here, it’s just enjoyable with a great cast. I went in not expecting much because I knew it would be more episodic. The ending did make me feel better about it all around too.
Masamune: I was actually pretty excited for this one - the first season wasn’t the best but I did enjoy it, but holy hell, I really didn’t enjoy this one. I ended up dropping it after episode 7. Every one in it was annoying including the new girl.
Girl I like forgot her glasses: this was the mindless romance that goes nowhere of the season, based on a premise that is unbelievable! No one is leaving their glasses that much, I can’t go 10ft without knowing I don’t have them. The guy simps so damn hard, it was impressive. I wanted some progress but whatever.
Reign of the seven blades: I ended up dropping this one with Masamune - they wanted to make it “confusing” as possible. There was so much they tried to put in the long bits of dialogue. Just boring for me outside of a couple interesting parts.
Vending Machine: this was my Bofuri of the season, just not as good. I did like some parts of it but the world wasn’t as interesting as I hoped. I would continue it

Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation Season 2 --- it was pretty ok, but we know its gona get more episodes a bit later. (7/10)
Zom 100: Bucket List of the Dead -- i was thinking its gona be another trash show like that old anime with rifle and boobs, but its realy realy good show and recomend watching it (also i have a good felling what will happen next week and its not gona be pretty) (9/10)
Thousand-Year Blood War Arc --- ok.....problem was that last time i watched bleach was many years ago and i had to remeber all characters lol. They do go crazy with powers in last season tho. (6/10)
Liar liar ---- meh waste of time... goes to much high tech, fails at explaning the games how they work (2/10)
Undead Girl Murder Farce -- this show is realy good and i recomend giving it a watch... tho it does abuse some famos people in it (and main character is not same powers as the one from that anime) (8/10)
I Was Reborn as a Vending Machine, Wandering in the Dungeon --- Hm... ignore isekai part i guess.. its more of a anime abauth JP vending machine culture (5/10)
The Great Cleric -- for a isekai is not the generic garbage, but a 10/10 watch easy......also the secret behind that drink
Helck--- that show is not done, but what the helck (7/10)
Level 1 Demon Lord and One Room Hero -- its a decent commedy and i recomend it (7/10)
Sugar Apple Fairy Tale Part 2 --- season 2 still goes strong and this time the enemy is a ....not telling (8/10)
The Gene of AI --- ok this is more of a high tech show, but it goes give a good way to look into a future laws that humanity will have. I think there is still 1 more ep till its done. 2 episodes are kinda weak, but rest are pretty decent. (6/10)
Spy Classroom Season 2 -- decent, but slow this time (5/10)
Edens Zero 2nd Season -- Ok... just more fairy tail, but more brutal (4/10)
One Piece -- god so much filler, but its finaly over (kinda) (1/10)Watching now : Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End
Don't sweat the details!!!

Care to elaborate on this one a bit? I sometimes watch OP and my understanding is that it has problems with re-using animations and often bad pacing...but filler content is usually not the list of negative things. Or are you referring to the recap-episodes they had to pull in the last few month because of budget constraints for the g5 episodes? and what timeframe are you rating here...complete wano (4years) or the raid (~2years).Originally Posted by Yunru

Just seems like a weird comparison to seasonal animes.

I mean they keep re-using same scenes. You see that scene of people dancing in city happy way way to much. Or they add scenes that already happened.Originally Posted by Sezerek

A 20 min episode is pretty much 8 min episode at best.If you would cut down this crap, it would be a 20 episodes in total.
Anyway....goblin slayer now has season 2 finaly.

I really don't care for Jujutsu Kaisen. Feels like it's just in because of the studio animating it. And jesus every single fight they just make up pull more and more rules out of nowhere akin to two toddlers play fighting each other with their make believe superpowers that they want to make as special as possible to beat the other. Real "Nuh uh" "yeah huh" energy.

Wait... The Faraway Paladin has second season...i didnt expect that. Same with The Saint's Magic Power is Omnipotent II.Anyway --- Undead Unluck..... this is kinda something new for once, but could be realy good or realy bad on next episode.
The Kingdoms of Ruin -- ep 1 was ok i guess, but wordbuilding is kinda weird
Berserk of Gluttony -- hard to say yet if its gona be good or not.. 3 ep limit
UNDER NINJA --- ep 1 was kinda boring and i dont have much hope for this show
Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End -- its good.....Man this season will have so much stuff to watch that i will have enogh for a new year...
Don't sweat the details!!!

Only watched a couple shows so far but looks like I’ll be watching a ton this season.Spy X Family s2: since this show isn’t going to be a Met and Mrs Smith (which I’m still bitter about every day), this show is strong when it’s focused on the full family dynamic. Here’s hoping there is more of that this season.
Shanghai-la Frontier: I’m loving every bit of this. Great art and it really makes me want to play a MMO.
Girlfriend, girlfriend s2: more of the same shit as s1, which I’m all for. It’s now becoming girlfriend, girlfriend, girlfri….oh wait, guess that’s already taken.
Playthrough of a Certain dude’s VrMMO life: they didn’t even both with being creative for the title of this one, and the actual content isn’t much past it. However, it’s about games so I’ll give it 3.
100 girlfriends: looks like the standard rom com garbage I enjoy. I like the art so far but everyone is generic is hell, which tracks. Will continue.
Haven’t had chance for Frieren yet but looking forward to it

I have no idea what you're watching then because it's definitely not Jujutsu kaisen, there's absolutely nothing about making more and more rules, they've been pretty clear from the start and stuck consistently to the same set.Originally Posted by Very Tired

Apparently there is a live-action adaption of Yu Yu Hakusho on Netflix, anyone seen it? If so, how was it so far? I am kinda nervous of watching a live-action adaptation of an anime I loved. Most live-action adaptions seemed to be a total shitshow, with rare exceptions like maybe One Piece?

For me, I despise the live actions, goes against why I watch the anime for - an shittily drawn explosion is much more enjoyable for me than a terrible cgi job.So another season down (for the most part). Here are my thoughts:
Zom100: finally finished on Xmas. It had a stronger draw earlier on and I still enjoyed it, but I felt it became very much like Dr. Stone for watchability. 8/10 for me overall.
Frieren: not done but still very enjoyable. Really enjoying the world. 9/10 so far.
Spy x Family S2: since I’ll never really fully enjoy this, it’s my background watch. It works well as that. Same shit as s1, and I enjoy it more when full family is involved. 8/10.
Eminence S2: damn, this show always delivers and I enjoyed it every week. Not sure how I feel about ending but hoping it’ll include the whole crew in some way. 10/10
Apothecary Diaries: so this one was the one I was most excited for this season, as I really enjoy the manga. I was worried it wouldn’t be good nor popular, and this adaptation put that worry to rest - truly amazing. 10/10 for me.
Shangrila Frontier: this one started stronger for me but is still enjoyable each episode. Really great look to it. The episodes are rather short but the SLF Shorts are cute. Sitting at 9/10 for me so far.
100 GFs: truly an amazing harem show. This show made me laugh every single episode, and seemed to only get stronger each one. Even when I know where it’s going, it adds a nice twist to it. I gave it a 10/10 due to over delivering and surprising me.
Ron Kamo…’s Forbidden Deduction: so this is an interesting one - another version of Sherlock Holmes. I generally liked each mystery they had, with it mostly being understandable but I really wish the watcher could have seen this “evidence” prior. I’m ok with them propping up Watson because Sherlock wasn’t allowed to solve cases, but I felt it was really silly how Watson was surprised each time Sherlock did “the thing” after each case he solved .. every fucking time. I would have given it 7/10 without that but 6/10 because of it.
Kanojo no Kanojo S2: I’m a sucker for this one, especially with the season focused on Shino (definitely best girl of the 4 trash girls). Lots of funny parts but also a lot of the same shit on repeat. It also took a bit longer than I wanted but it works. I gave it 8/10 but realistically it’s 7 at best.
16 bit sensation: I thought this would be a show about celebrating old visual novels. And it is… kind of lol it decided to go crazy in the second half. I would have enjoyed it more if it was more shirobako but it works. 6-7/10.
JJK s2: I am getting battle fatigue. Heavily. Not enjoying this season as much as first - I need more variety in the tone of each episode but s2 is all serious. 8/10 due to the great Rich
Garbage I dropped:
Protocol Rain: I couldn’t drop this show enough times. Fuck I was hoping it would be a garbage watch but the drama in it is so stupid.Certain Dudes VRMMO: I was also hoping for this to be mindless fun and first few episodes did that; however, it just kept getting dumber and dumber. Had to finally drop it after episode 8.
